There's plenty of other nice places, Tempe, Az also gets pretty during Christmas.I added some pictures so you can see. When you go to the Hoover Dam or Grand Canyon you can pay to get a tour on a helicopter.I live in Glendale,Az. so I know :)Plus, I've been to all these places myself.Don't miss out on Scottsdale and Prescott. Also, go to the Arizona Mills Mall in Mesa, it's huge! Or The Desert Ridge Mall.Or to the Cardinal Stadium and to the stores around there.Visit Cabelas in Glendale as well, they have dissected animals! The Meteor crater is pretty cool, never been there though.

The places that do not get too hot normally or have a small snowfall will not have a viable job market. Right now Arizona is in a serious recession because our economy is based on the housing and growth industry. With the housing crisis and foreclosures its affecting other industries as well. Sadly our educational system ranks about 48th in the nation due to the large influx of older people moving into Arizona and not wanting to pay higher taxes that will benefit schools when their children and grandchildren live elsewhere and the increasing amount of undocumented students that put a strain on an already tight budget- that doesnt mean all school districts in Arizona are suffering but you will have to really research schools and move into that area for your children. Not to be completely negative- I live here and love it. Im used to the heat and cant really see myself living anywhere besides the desert. Not a lot of mosquitos or humidity and I find the landscapes to be incredibly beautiful. I would go to Tucson first because its a little cooler than Phoenix due to its higher elevation but still warmer than what you are used to..dont worry too much about that because tons of people come from harsh winters and their blood "thins" out and they adapt.
